Workshop - Handstitched Patchwork

Sold out

Hand sewing is a delightfully slow and meditative craft that is perfectly suited to the winter months.

Come along to this workshop to learn how to design and hand stitch a nine-patch patchwork block - a simple, traditional design that provides endless variation and inspiration.

During this two-hour workshop in Greytown village, we'll help you select and combine fabrics in your own style and aesthetic, prepare the templates and fabrics, and handstitch the nine pieces together into a 3x3 block to take home with you.

This block could then be the starting block for a larger quilt, a visible mend to an existing quilt, finished as a hot pad or charming miniature quilt, or you could simply display it as a beautiful piece of handstitching.

Places are limited to six in each workshop. This workshop is suitable for beginner sewers aged 15+ years.

We are holding this event as part of Greytown's July winter festival programme. To see the schedule of other activities and events, visit the Greytown Village website.
